2026 Miami Grand Prix – Qualifying F1 results (Miami Gardens)

Kimi Antonelli claimed pole position by more than a tenth from Max Verstappen ahead of Sunday’s Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.

Antonelli was fastest in Qualifying 1 but was bested by Verstappen in Qualifying 2, before bouncing back to head the pack at the end of the three-part session.

McLaren struggles for pace in Miami GP qualifying

The Mercedes driver set the pace to head Q1 by three tenths, while Oscar Piastri snuck through in 16th place.

Behind Antonelli, Charles Leclerc was next-best from Max Verstappen and Lando Norris.

There was drama at Audi, which worked feverishly to get both Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto both had delayed entries into the session.

While Hulkenberg escaped the session, Bortoleto did not; the Brazilian suffering a brake fire as the chequered flag waved to trigger a delay to the start of Q2.

After Piastri struggled for pace in Qualifying 1, it was Norris who was languishing down the order in Q2.

Verstappen went fastest at the end of the segment, Antonelli second with Charles Leclerc third.

Norris progressed, though only in seventh having sat ninth in the dying moments.

McLaren’s woes appeared resolved early in Qualifying 3 as Piastri went fastest and then Norris.

They were soon pipped but it was a bright sign as Antonelli went four-tenths clear after his first lap.

It proved unbeatable; Antonelli’s initial lap good enough for pole ahead of Verstappen and Leclerc.

Norris will start fourth from George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, and Piastri in seventh.

The top 10 was rounded out by Franco Colapinto, Isack Hadjar, and Pierre Gasly.
